FAQs on Help.com.au to Help.com Migration

Regarding the Migration

All your files, emails, DNS records and forwarders will be carried across from cPanel in 1:1 fashion.

During the migration, our team will test your site on both the new and old instances prior to making any changes to DNS records to domains we have access to.

We will make every effort to ensure your website works in a similar way on the new server with DirectAdmin, however in the event there are any issues with the migration which we cannot resolve, we will not adjust your DNS records and notify you of the problems we faced.

DNS

As your service is being moved to a new server, DNS changes will be needed to your domain name

Any domain names we are the registrar of and are currently pointed towards our nameservers ns1.help.com.au and ns2.help.com.au , our team will update once we have finalised the migration.

Any domains that are either not registered with us or are pointed away will need to be updated by you or a party that has access to the DNS for your domain name.

Wordpress

Your current Wordpress installation, files and database will be carried across from your old cPanel instance with Help.com.au into Help.com and DirectAdmin.

You can manage your Wordpress installation by heading to Advanced Features > Wordpress Manager.

Emails

Email accounts and the content within the mailboxes will be carried across during the migration as well.

You can manage your mailboxes by heading to the Email Manager tool on the left.

If you notice after the migration you may be missing any emails, you can make use of DirectAdmins IMAP sync tool in order to bring over any emails which may have been sent to the old server during the migration period. Or let us know and our team can run it on your behalf.

Regarding any domains you have registered with Help.com.au

Your domain registration/s will be carried across and registration/renewal prices will remain the same.

When will this migration occur?

This transition will be done on XXXXX DATE XXXX.

Once you have received confirmation that your account, domain/s and hosting have been transferred across, you will need to reset your password via the Help.com system as a security precaution.

Your login email you use with Help.com.au will remain the same with Help.com.

What if I don’t want to move to DirectAdmin?

We completely understand if you do not wish to move across to a DirectAdmin service.

Unfortunately our previous servers will not be available once the migration has been completed and tested.

If you are still looking to have your website hosted using a cPanel instance, you will need to move your service to another provider who offers cPanel based web hosting.

We apologise if this causes any inconvenience. In the event you do wish to move away to continue using cPanel, we’ll be more than happy to assist you any way we can to ensure your transition is as smooth as possible.

As always, if you have any questions or run into any issues during the migration, please feel free to contact us by emailing support@help.com and our support team will be more than happy to Help! where we can.
