Setting up a redirect in DirectAdmin

Before continuing with this guide, ensure you're logged into DirectAdmin and viewing the main dashboard.

Site redirects let you forward visitors from one URL on your domain to another page (on your site or elsewhere).

Step 1:Access Site Redirection
Log into DirectAdmin → Account Manager section → click Site Redirection.

Step 2: Create a Redirect

  1. Local URL Path: Enter the path you want to redirect from.
    • Example: /sitehelper → redirects yourdomain.com/sitehelper
    • Use just / to redirect the entire domain (root).

      • Example: /sitehelper → redirects yourdomain.com/sitehelper
      • Use just / to redirect the entire domain (root).
    2. Destination URL: Enter the full target URL (include http:// or https://).
      • Example: https://www.site-helper.com
    1. Choose redirect type:
      • Permanent (301) – best for SEO (recommended)
      • Temporary (302) – if it might change later
    2. Tick With www or Without www as needed (usually leave default).
    3. Click Create.
